The
department was established in 1964 and
the undergraduate course in Commerce
with Electronic Data Processing and
Computer Applications commenced in 1999.There
are four faculty members and three of
them possess Ph D degree. Though the
academic standards of the students admitted
to the BCom course were not high, the
department has produced a relatively
better output in results of the University
examinations. The department established
a link with Kerala Water Authority in
the field of research.
A minor research project has been sanctioned
by UGC in favour of one member during
Xth plan period.
