The
department of English was established in 1964.Out
of the nine faculty members in the department,
six have completed their M Phil programme. One
teacher is engaged in research work leading
to Ph D under FIP. The department conducts BA
degree course in English Language and Literature.
In addition to this the department engages classes
in Part I English which is a compulsory component
to all the degree courses. BA vocational course
in Communicative English, funded by UGC, conducted
for 5 years and then run as self financed course
which was discontinued as per Government directive.
The department established links with Centre
for Faculty Resource Development in English
and American Studies Centre Hyderabad.
