The
department was established in 1979 with
three year degree course in Geology.
There are three faculty members of which
one is a Ph D holder. The department
produced an array of eminent alumnae
including reputed scientists serving
in India and abroad. Collaboration has
been established with Centre for Earth
science studies (CESS), Trivandrum.
The department has unique record in
getting first rank three times within
a period of seven years from its inception.
